Barbed Wire is a wire or strand of wires having small pieces of sharply pointed wire twisted around it at short intervals, used chiefly for fencing in livestock, keeping out trespassers, etc.
From home boundaries to jails, these wires have been extensively used for protection. This type of fencing wire is generally made from iron. These are available in various styles. Some run in a straight line, while others are rounded making a mesh. This type of fencing keeps unwanted wild animals away from animal sheds and fields.
This is the most popular type of fencing prevalent in India with over 60% of lands being fenced with barbed wire. There are several designs possible with barbed wire and the height of the fencing can be as per the needs of the customer. The barbed wire can be installed using stone pole, concrete poles or pipes. Barbed wire, also known as barb wire, is a type of fencing wire constructed with sharp edges or points arranged at intervals along the strand(s).
Barbed wire is a subsidiary option for chain link. Barbed wire is wires eloped into each other thought the run and holds barbs at 4 inches of gap. The running wire is usually a 12 gauge / 2.5 mm wire and the bard is a 14 gauge / 2 mm wire. The 12 gauge wire is called the line wire and the 14 gauge wire is called the barb wire.
